Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay in Athens, I had the opportunity to experience two delightful weekends at a charming boutique hotel. Nestled in a peaceful area away from the city's bustle, this hotel offers a unique blend of comfort and a touch of luxury. My initial room, while a 3-star offering, had some small shortcomings, like a lack of shelving in the bathroom and a mini bar that struggled to chill. It was still above average for its category. On the second weekend, we were upgraded to a fantastic suite, boasting high ceilings, a spacious bathroom, and excellent amenities akin to a 5-star experience—minus the elevator, due to the historic nature of the building. The staff were welcoming, and breakfasts delivered to our terrace added a nice touch to our mornings. Although the breakfast options felt limited to the second day, it met our needs adequately. With key attractions within walking distance, we hardly needed taxis. While the hotel offers luxurious touches, it remains cost-effective for those prioritizing quiet stays and proximity to major sites in Athens. For budget-conscious travelers, this hotel represents a wise choice with a taste of elegance.
